CTS occurs when the median nerve — running through a narrow passage in the wrist called the carpal tunnel — becomes compressed, causing pain, numbness, tingling, and weakness in the hand and fingers.
The standard Carpal Tunnel Release (RM 4,800) uses a small open incision to cut the carpal ligament. The Endoscopic ECTR (RM 8,800) is minimally invasive, using a tiny camera through a smaller incision — typically associated with faster recovery and less scarring, but at a higher cost.
Both are effective. Your specialist will advise based on the severity of your condition, your lifestyle, and your preference. ECTR may suit patients who need a quicker return to daily activities.
No — both procedures use local anaesthesia only, which numbs the wrist/hand area. This makes it safer, faster, and allows for same-day or short-stay discharge.
The poster does not specify. If you have CTS in both hands, confirm with the centre whether the package price applies per hand or covers both.
Pre-op investigations are not listed in the inclusions. Clarify with the centre before booking, as a nerve conduction study (NCS) is commonly required to confirm CTS diagnosis before surgery.
No — these packages are for self-paying Malaysian patients only.
